In Hochdorf, near Stuttgart. Excavated in 1968 and found completely untouched. Restored following excavations. Finds, including Celtic chiftain's body, War Chariot, tools, drinking vessels and bronze couch in Nearby Kelten Museum.
Reconstruction of funerary chamber with the 600 BCE Bronze Couch on which chiftain was found resting his bones.
Rome had not become a regional superpower yet, but the Iron Age Celts clearly aspired to an Etruscan-Greek lifestyle and had imported luxury goods from as far away as the Middle East |
