Intriguing translation here to go with Michel Leduc's photo and description. Two menhirs stand at the entrance to the village of Lacabarede – that much is clear - then I resorted to Babelfish which says “of share and d' autresq d' a martyrdom”
So perhaps there’s a folk tale about two sisters who were martyred here, please enlighten us if you’ve heard that story.

(2011-01-24) | put a space after d'autre and you get "either side of a calvaire - the stone with cross on top.
However, for good legends, see the caption to ocdolmens picture
