I had an appointment in Tarbes in the morning, and decided to continue to 'Le Rocher Mystérieux' to check out the cave (finally equiped with a torch) as Lourdes is nearby...
(in the interests of saving petrol and my limited wallet...)
I arrived in the area to find several people setting light to the mountain! This is probably some sort of bracken control,or maybe it helps the soil.. I don't know. But it didn't seem like a good idea to start an ascent, as flames and smoke were everywhere...
So I went off to visit the 'Peyre-Dusets' dolmen, and this photo of 'Le Rocher Mystérieux'smoking was taken next to the dolmen... with the digital zoom on the camera, so of rather bad quality. On the right of the photo is the 'Peyrasse menhir'. To find it, look at the white silo, drop down to the 'white' sign, and the menhir is just to the right...
