The name of this dolmen "the Tomb of the English" points out medieval times to us when the English soldiers and lords had important territorial possessions in the south of France (Quercy, Aquitaine and Rouergue).
Well before that, it was the French lords who had colonized the royal court of England. The French lords and kings became English with the length of the centuries.
A few centuries later, English and the descendants of French kings will come to France but ultimately, will lose the war.
Some remained in France like those buried in this dolmen.
