Description Front view of Oeillantes dolmen 1 near Barjac city (border between Ardèche and Gard départements).
It's the biggest dolmen of Oeillantes dolmens group (or Bois Communal dolmens). Its capstone weights about 5 tons.
This megalithic group counts 6 dolmens but only dolmens 1 and 2 have kept a good conservation. Other 4 dolmens are hidden in the oak woods.
Near to this group, there are the Dévèze group (4 dolmens + 1 isolated dolmen) and Serre de Fabre dolmens (3 ruined dolmens).

Excellent Dolmen image. Really illustrates the enormous effort, this must have taken so many milennia ago.
