NBatural rock formation about 588 meters up a Hill above West of Koestlach Village and overloooking upper Rhine River near Swiss border. Ideal for observing invading Germans durind the Iron Age. Later probably also re-used by Romans as there is a Rue Des Romains just below in the village. There is a plateau behind it, useful for human habitation. Site is generally destroyed, though archeology has been pulled out. There are some possibly interesting piles of stones as well as possible fortifications on the bottom part of the hill. |
