Description Mur Paien

Roman Gate. Simply re-arranged with available stones to meet Roman Road, just to the east of the modern Road.
10 Km Long cyclopean wall surrounding Mont-Sainte-Odile Convent. Thought to be dating back to Iron age. later re-used by Romans and christians. Mont-Sainte-Odile is a strategic location overlooking Rhine valley, useful for spotting invading Germans.
Many stones simply fell over or where used as paving stones for the hiking path.
Human habitation dates back to Neolithic, but complete history is not clear as researchers short of funds.
