Iron Age Hillfort above Village of Jelse on Hvar Island as seen from the south.
The indentation probably served for entry via a ladder.
Built by native Dalmatian Illyrians with some Greek influence.
Lower blocks are up to 2 meters wide and 1 meter tall.
Entire tower is about 7.2 x 6.2 meter in area and up to 8 Meters tall at the highest location. |
