A new interpretation for the purpose of Stonehenge. Seen through the eyes of the Neolithic People, Stonehenge defined the Cosmos.
This simplified, stylized rendering of Great Henge provides my latest interpretation for the scope, purpose and longevity of this enigmatic monument.
Thanks are due to Jon Morris, who provided some insight and several technical details.

Apparently there's a number of glaring errors in this depiction, which I had posted to correct & compliment the previous one.
North & South are offset considerably in relation to the Henge's orientation, and none of the Aubrey's hit an alignment or Major Cardinal.
The Moonsets should be placed along the bisecting line through the center, between the Barrows.
The commentary is still pretty good though! |
