(2008-02-06) | Nice photo... I only went once to Stonehenge back in 1991, and was horribly disappointed, by the tarred paths, the fences,lack of access etc.. (I'm not knocking the stones themselves!) This photo though shows something more mysterious... | tiredchris

(2010-03-22) | I think that this may be one of the best representations of the place that I have seen. We see the size of the stones compared to the puny people around them. We see the width and the height of the stones from the viewpoint of a standing at ground level some distance away, the only way it was ever viewed until the last 100 years. The back ground again emphasises the size and placement on the earth giving us a sense of vast area involved and increases our appreciation of the effort involved in the construction. The mist and the resultand coloration simply isolate the moment in time and allow us to feel the wild and beautiful aspects of the site. |
