Description The low angle of light from the setting sun really brings out the texture in these massive stones. I shot these color images of Stonehenge on Fuji Velvia and scanned in the film. Of course Fuji isn't making this kind of film anymore.

Lovely picture. Fuji Velvia was just about the best film ever. So much for progress!

This is a great photo, I like the way you've gone for a portrait style rather than the more usual landscape shots of stonehenge.

Thanks for the comments. I did the portrait style 'cause I thought the clouds and sky was more interesting then the grass. I did take some B&W ones at the same time. Which do you like better?

I like the subdued colours in this one, its a great overall view with atmosphere. Was it really this deserted? I'm amazed that its possible to get such a great photo without people or fences/poles spoiling it. Haven't been here yet but slowly drawing up my plans!

Thanks for your comment Ken. I'll have to go back to my Film and see for sure. I did crop out someone on the left hand side of the photo, and I remember that my camera and tripod was over the fence to avoid it getting in the way.

The black and white ones are really good too. I liked this one, because using a portrait style appealed to me. You're right about the sky. When I was there, it was plain grey, with washed out light. I will have to return and try again!
