Description At the time of construction, the First Gleam on the summer solstice, would have appeared to the side of Stone 30, when viewed through the gap between the legs of the Great Trilithon, and would have occurred directly above the Heel Stone at the Full Orb. Now it rises just to the left of the point of the Heel Stone, when here in this photo taken at Sunrise on 26.06.2001.

[For Chimera] This photo shows the position of Stone 16 at - or near - Summer Solstice sunrise. It is the bulky rectangular one nearest the camera.
