It becomes more obvious when studying more of the thousands of boat carvings. These often include depictions of prows and human activities on board. | marginalbear (2012-08-13) | I think some of them may well represent sledges. Useful in winter situations where boats are not. | Martin L (2012-08-14) | Winter situations? According to current state of research the climate in that regions was not generally different from today. They most probably had no harsh winter scenarios. And if they would have liked to depict sledges they certainly would have not forgotten about the pulling animals (compare depictions of ploughs or carts).
