(2010-12-02) | Something to do with butchery? Internal organs perhaps? Some of the elk similarly carved at Alta can be seen to be pregnant. | Martin L
(2010-12-03) | Yes, there are several other stone age carvings in Norway and Sweden with depictions of organs (especially the heart?) and/or blood vessels?. The oval object visible inside the larger elk possibly depicts the heart. These type of carvings is usually situated near sites suitable for hunting. |
