Top flat, slightly sloping towards NE.
Inside the barrow, the northern half of a burial chamber.
The chamber has been restored in a questionable way several years before 1927.
(danish text: 'en ret daarlig' = 'rather poor')
A modern passage is leading into the tomb from east, the original
passage is missing.
In the chamber the seven northern upright stones are original,
two stones against west, three against north, contained in a curve,
and two against east. They face all one flat side inwards and are covered
by a huge capstone. The height from floor to ceiling is now 1.20 m,
but there seems to have led a lot of clay and earth into the room.
The chamber lacks the southern end, now replaced with four stones placed
in a straight line. The new end is covered with four stones, resting on
the orig. capstone or tied to it with wedges.
Part of the impressive Vedsted 'Femhøje' complex.
('Femhøje' = Five Hills / Barrows)
A Round Barrow with almost complete kerb stones, three Long Barrows;
one of these with a lot of still visible kerb stones and an astounding length of
115 meters, a beautiful and well preserved passage grave, plus one of those
danish 'Jættestue' that you can explore from inside the chamber.
