There are three cross-dykes on Pen Hill across the valley. The jumble of earhworks in the front of the picture are all part of the hillfort ramparts. The tree isolated to left of the woodland on the horizon (top right) is growing on the tallest of the Devils Jumps tumuli, which are aligned on the hill where I am standing. |
