Contact them for permission to reproduce it. | | | Description | There is a linear earthwork on Hatchet Moor, between grid reference SU358019 in the north and SU360013 in the south. It comprises a bank, with a ditch on the western side. I can find very little information about this earthwork - it is labelled as "Earthwork" in gothic script on the OS map, and it is possible that it is known as "Cerdic's Bridgehead" (see this article by Anthony Pasmore. This view is looking south along the ditch with the bank on the left, just south of the B3055 road. |
