Isolated, tiny, stunning situation and very tranquil. Well worth a visit.

From the corner at Dennis Knoll where the Roman Road comes down from Stanage Edge, look uphill & slightly Right, you'll see one of the stones showing white against the heather. | Bamford (2003-09-09) | Next Ruler | Brian E Clark (2003-09-24) | The heather currently too high (Sept 2003) to see location (using mentioned by Walrus) & despite having visited site before, I managed to keep missing it for the first hour of wandering!(in 28'C). By taking bearings from old wall crossing moor back to Dennis Knoll wood found it fairly easily. | Brian E Clark (2003-10-01) | Photo (bec-zog) shows dense heather cover (Knee high in most areas) | vicky (2003-10-01) | Most of the smaller Peak Circles are best avoided at this time of year as they are nearly all completely overgrown with either heather or bracken. |
