Description Plan of the Nine Maidens, with numbering of stones, which may be useful. I see they call the fallen stone at the higher end 'The Old Man'. Maybe he did look human when in original upright position?
(Don't recall where I found this!)

Apologies for misleading readers! In 'Cornovia' by Craig Weatherhill, he tells us that 'The Fiddler', 'The Old Man', or the 'Magi Stone' actually stood 500m to the NE. The Nine Maidens alignment pointed towards it. That menhir was broken up some years ago, but part of it, 1.8m long, still lies on the site at SW939682. [The outline drawing of it above, looked so much like Stone 1 that I assumed it was the same one.]
