Contact them for permission to reproduce it. |  | | Description | This photo shows the narrow gateway to the fort, looking back out towards the mainland - a small National Trust sign nearby points out the castle entrance for the unaware. The gateway is well-preserved and made of massive blocks of granite: an abundant local building material. On the far side of the entrance is one of the former gate jambs, lying partly in the gateway passage. There are remains of a contemporary field system on the slope overlooking the site. |
