Does Tredinnick not mean something to do with a hillfort?

This particular Tredinnick derives from Cornishtre-redenek (or redenack) meaning brackeny (or fernbrake) farm.

I married a Tredinnick. I wonder if the remains of that circle is still there. Has anyone else tried to find it?

according to dexter, in cornish names, possibly from dynek meaning fortified, tre, town, settlement, or if it was dresseck then brambly from dryseg. its not unusual for family names to be taken from place names.

A pity we don't have a more accurate location for this photo; although the circle is described here as being at SW 442 349, the English Heritage National Monument Record (at pastscape.org.uk) gives the location as SW 4426 3489, about 60m ESE.

I took this picture a long time ago, I remember looking at the original location but could find nothing. I then spotted this grouip of stones which were enough to be removed from the circle.

Contrary to the photo caption, the correct location for the upright stone (nearest in the row) is SW 44594 34833 50.158396,-5.577251
