Late afternoon sunshine gives a pleasant colour to this picture-postcard quoit in West Penwith. The almost-horizontal capstone gives a very ordered feel to this monument: is this an artifact of the nineteenth-century rebuilding? |
| Posted Comments: eeveyb (2005-05-10) | Lanyon was the start of my 'obsession' with the Stones ... I hold this close to my heart.
I do wonder if the capstone was as level as it is now , due to the 're-fitment' ??
Lovely crisp photo , been taken just as it is !! | JimChampion (2005-05-10) | From this angle the stones are free from the clutter of the surrounding walls/road and so on, which is why I like it. Took it with my old (non-digital) camera. During the same visit I took a great photo from the other direction but managed to obscure some of it with my finger. Thanks to digital cameras thats not a problem any more :) |
