It dates from c1000 CE and has both Celtic and Scandinavian designs. The front has depiction of the temptation of St Anthony with two devilish figures standing at either side of him (or Christ being seized by jews). In the lower panel a warrior on horseback. There is also interlacing, knotwork and key-patterning. The reverse has loop-work, key-patterning and on the base, fretwork. |
