Overlooking the river that feeds the local fontaine. Again high earth banks delineating the pathway to the stone.
A very impressive 7 meters high, it hid amongst the trees until we nearly bumped into it!
Woodland menhirs have a tendency to turn the same colour as trees which makes hunting them rather difficult - even when accompanied by a detailed map.
A imposing stone, apparently it is well known locally and located in a well visited woodland area. |
