I'm one of those who loves rapeseed fields - the yellow is so cheerful and I wish the flowers lasted longer. However, I've come across many who despise it.

It's pretty to look at from a distance but close-up it's responsible for more URTI's than any other single plant. That's Upper Respiratory Tract Infections - mainly restricted breathing, wheezing, asthma etc. Often these reactions occur in people who have no previous chesty symptoms.
Other pretty crops that don't have those effects are sunflowers, lavender, borage and linseed/flax.

Ever noticed how tight theses plants grow, esp. after blooming?
Impossible to walk through.
When you come down in a parachute in such a field.. bad luck my friend.
Unless you got a machete handy. Or a helicopter picks you up...

you wouldn't like it if it gave you asthma attacks, and couldn't breath Angie. I personally think it should be banned.
