| Posted Comments: jmarz (2005-10-03) | it seems to me,that the monoliths and the silbury hill are some type of reflectors. hence the chalk lines or chalk marerial and also the angle of the slope. the purpose could well be that the people of that time had witnessed something, lights or something like a wheel of fire. the other monoliths looks had similar circles built to replicate what they had seen.the stones could have been encircled by wood,while the flatter stones had wood placed on top to burn,trying to reach the lights. |
