Hope everyone is having a good Christmas? Warm wishes from Devon. | KenWilliams (2006-12-27) | Your welcome Angie, I wanted to see ths for myself for the past few years and this year I had the perfect opportunity. Unfortunately a little bit of cloud prevented the sun shining directly through the notch. Now I realise why I couldn't find any photos of this event on the web, its an absolute bugger to photograph because the horizon is so high above the circle, resorted to the old trick of putting the grad filter in to the holder upside down with the edge of the glass just below the horizon. Crude but does the job! Hope you had a great xmas, we certainly did :) | AngieLake (2006-12-27) | Well done Ken! Your second photo, today, is great too, showing how the sun 'rolls down' the hill slope into that notch. Also enjoyed the excellent article on Newgrange and Dowth. Your description of how you took this one leaves me bewildered, even though it does sound pretty basic!! ;-)
I'm such a dumb 'Automatic-frame-and-fire' gal! | nicoladidsbury (2006-12-28) | This is a great photo - thanks Ken :) |
