The majority of stone circles in Co. Cork are sited in open moorland or pasture. In marked contrast, this delightful circle of small, lush-green, moss-covered stones stands within a small copse in a walled enclosure next to an abandoned farmhouse. Eleven stones make up the circle and are graded in height from the 0.9m high entrance stones down to the dome-shaped recumbent which is just 0.5m tall. The internal measurement along this NNE-SSW axis is 5.1m. |
