To get to this one you have a two mile hike from the car park at Glecknabae. When you get to Kilmichael Cottage,
forget what your OS map tells you as it shows a path to the cairn before the cottage. I had a look at this, but there is a barbed wire fence all the way along. Walk past the cottage and the caravan on your right until you come to a gate on the right just past the cottage. If you go all the way to the farm where a pack of farm dogs will gladly give you a lick ,then you have gone too far.
When you have gone through the gate, climb up the hill keeping to the right of the electric pylons and you will eventually come to the Cairn which is approx 22 feet long, lined up north to south. It has collapsed and is covered in gorse which makes it hard to find. |
