Easter Aquhorthies is a very good example of a recumbent stone circle, with the added advantage of being easily accessible. The recumbent group is unusual however, in that there are two smaller stones in front of, and at right angles to, the recumbent, pointing towards the centre of the circle. The second stone from the flanker (on the left as you face the recumbent) is of beautiful red jasper and is a sight worth seeing! There are many mysteries about this circle which have yet to be explained. Definitely well worth a visit.
