If this was a recumbent stone circle then you would expect the smallest stone to be at the North end but at Sheldon the North stone is the biggest (and there's no sign of a recumbent). |

"A much larger stone stands just to the north of the circle, and 17.7m to the SE is a stone similar in size to those in the circle but triangular in shape. [Visited by OS (NKB) 5 March 1964.]" |
