|Description ||‘Fence Rock’ Snowden Carr, North Yorkshire SE1790351266
A medium sized flat rock with 9 cups & 2 grooves, 1 groove connecting 2 cups. This carving used to be proudly positioned next to a wire fence, hence the name. Sadly in 1996 the fence collapsed & the carving has been lonely ever since. Happily, it kept its name in remembrance………..the stuff you learn on the portal ;-)
Referenced 594 in the West Yorkshire Archaeology Services publication ‘Prehistoric Rock-Art of the West Riding’.
