A medium sized rectangular rock set on Middle Gill Bents with in Middleton Moor Enclosure. This rock is 195m E of cup referenced 501 by Boughey & Vickerman, 83m E of Middle Gill & 10m W of the Roman Road.
This is 1 of 3 stones which follow the route of the Roman Road over Middleton Moor, suggesting that maybe the Romans built their road over an existing track way.
It has 9 cups, 2 of them joined by 2 grooves.
Not referenced in Boughey & Vickermans ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding’, or by North Yorks County Council as a scheduled monument, this could be a rediscovery.
