At first glance it appeared to resemble a collapsed cairn or tomb. I came from Moel ty Uchaf's circle, down over the slope in a roughly southerly direction, at an angle towards my left slightly but aiming straight towards it (not having seen it before hand). On the way, there were three separate single anticlockwise movements, at equal distances apart. If it was the final destination of a ritual, it could have been an important burial place?
Burl's 'cleared remains of a cairn' containing much white quartz was to the right of my route, halfway down the slope. (I didn't know that existed at the time, either!) |
