Description Woodray Class II Pictish Symbol Stone, was found in 1819 when the remains of Woodrae Castle were being cleared, the symbol stone had been reused as a paving slab in the floor of the kitchen.

Woodrae Castle is about 1km NorthNorthWest of Aberlemno.

The Woodray Pictish Symbol stone is on display in the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh.

It appears that this one has actually been defaced - the middle of the cross has been hacked away. Judging by the detail of the rest of the carving, it must have been quite something.
