You can clearly see erosion (north east side), this has probably been perpetuated by sheep rubbing themselves against the exposed turf.

| Posted Comments: theCaptain (2011-12-07) | Looking at your other photos, there looks like there might be tyre tracks going over the top of the barrow, and down causing this damage. See here
| h fenton (2011-12-07) | I can't see any tire tracks in the other photo, only shallow parallel ditches probably connected with the landscaping of the park in the 18thCentury. The type of erosion feature seen here is commonly called a 'sheep scrape'. An electric fence has been placed around the the barrow (signified by the change in grass colour in this photo), to protect it from further erosion. |
