The large ramparts of the fort lie in the trees beyond the green fields on top of the hill - about 1km down the track (near the centre of the photograph).

| Posted Comments: 4clydesdale7 (2011-11-29) | The straight line (centre shot) is the 'backbone' of the Camp and an Ancient Trackway which leads eventually (SSE - into the far horizon) to a known salt way - in the foreground and in the left of shot is the NE scarp down which are two probable holloways - the gentleman holding the kite may be standing on one of them -
The earthworks (SE edge of the Camp) are in the trees are at the far end of the farthest green field -
The highest point (where there may be the odd Barrow or two) is out of shot to the right beyond which is the W scarp - this is a superb photo showing about three-quarters of the Camp - and the promontory is so clearly defined |
