(2006-07-18) | Thanks, quite similar in the shape of the mound to what capel Garmon may have had indeed, but the chamber and passage configuration is quite different. Although a false portal or certainly a façade area with the horns are evident at both sites. Have you had a look at Tim Darvill’s book, Long Barrows of the Cotswolds 2004 and the Neolithic Chambered Tombs in Wales by Goerge Nash 2006? I hope to do lots more while on my travels carrying out work on commercial projects. The Portal as ever will help me target sites on the way to and near places I am heading for. (2006-07-18) | I think I read that the forecourt at Capel Garmon was false, and the southern passage (on the side) was the real entry point. It looked as if this was similar, altho this layout is different. CG's false entrance is at the east, and this one's north I believe. | archaeologysafaris
