Visited Avebury about 30 years ago. spoke with a gentleman who was dowsing on the path around the henge. I think he was from Oxford University doing research. We talked for awhile and as I was moving on he pointed to the 'cove' stones and said I should check them out. I wandered around some more and then went to the cove. As I stood between the stones I began to feel an odd compression on my body, especially on my head. Then I heard the same fellow say "They are interesting, aren't they?" I looked up expecting him to be standing close by, but as I looked to where I first spoke to him, several hundred feet away on the henge, he was standing there looking at me. Totally blew my mind. The person I was with experienced the same phenomena. We waved at eachother and went on. I felt disoriented for awhile after that, kind of stumbled around for while. Light, sound, other senses were heightened also. Amazing experience. Got the same feeling at another site in a town down the road with a single standing stone, but not as strong. I will return one day. Very magical.

Hi asmith and welcome, that's really interesting. We have a thread in the Mysteries Forum currently running about experiences of energy at sites, I think your experience would add to the discussion there. I've taken the liberty of copying it so please wander over and join in :-)
