Hello Wendy, thanks for the photos - this isn't in the Burl books or listed as a scheduled monument - how do you know about it?

I think these look like natural stones. This photo seems to have been taken at about 54.355576, -3.112538. That whole area is littered with natural outcroppings of rock. If someone had wanted to make a stone circle there, I bet they could have made a better job of it, given the abundance of stones.

Most are barely showing through turf. Could have done with 6 or 7 more people to mark them out. From a edge to the middle, it measured 24 feet aprox, and the same to the other end.

Could you send some close up photos of the individual stones, or an indication of sizes.

Done. We absolutely believe this is a stone circle.

It is better if you do it directly, then you can answer any of their questions. I've sent you a pm with some contact details, good luck!

Looking at the map that davidmorgan has put up, a little to the NW of his arrow are 3 stones in a triangle, their distance apart is similar to what seems to be part of a octagonal pattern with a central stone to the E of the green arrow.

should read 48 ft across aprox
