|Description ||Following Nicola's posting of the intriguing framing of the pillar of Long Meg between the double portal stones, here's a similar one I took in May 2004. It shows the same image captured in the pronounced curve on the other side of the largest Eastern stone of the 'Daughters'. Maybe there is a significant point at which the sun shines over the rather phallic image of Long Meg from this angle? Maybe it *isn't* the sun, but the Moon that is framed in the curve of this stone whilst it hovers over Long Meg? There is a similarly shaped stone at Castlerigg, perhaps placed there for the same reason. If my memory serves me well, it is not at due east, but more towards SE.|
