Photograph taken in 1975 during excavation, showing the central trough for cooking and side divisions which have been interpreted as 'benches'. These sites, generally regarded as cooking places are ubiquitous in Scotland and Ireland. Suggestions that they may have been saunas is taken less seriously. |
