The grounds of Capesthorne Hall appear to be home to a number of prehistoric mounds. The first (pictured here) which appears on the Cheshire County Sites and Monuments Record as a scheduled bowl barrow lies to the north-east of the Hall. Consisting of a round earthen mound 25m in diameter, it now has a pedestal on the top. A second scheduled tumulus 17m in diameter by 1.5m high lies to the south-east, covered by trees and disturbed by rabbits, with a possible third to the north-west.
