A large feature at the Elan Valley visitor centre in central Powys, west from Rhayader is this Millennium Project - a map of Radnorshire, with stones marking the relative major population centres of the central 'old' county of Powys. Looking through the front of the stones, towards one of the enormous dams of the Elan Valley. Sometimes the water flows over the top of this dam, but given recent drought, it lacks the beautiful cascade it can have. |
