Once you've hunted it out - tucked away in a corner past some cottages - it is like entering a magical tunnel with the overhanging trees and dappled sunlight filtering through. You have the feeling that you've stepping back in time.
Looking uphill here, a little way up from the well, with the lane bending around to the right. |
