This photo shows the relatively long, level platform visible here, between the piles of granite near the Tor's summit. Laughter Man pokes its 'finger' skywards, towards the middle of it. (A 'stage' set for ceremonies enacted at the Laughter Man menhir and its adjacent stone rows, maybe?) Visiting in July 2000, I seem to remember the highest area of the Tor facing the standing stone as being a wide, shallow bowl effect, tilting towards the south. |
| Posted Comments: nicoladidsbury (2005-01-10) | Great colours Angie, looks like a very interesting site. | AngieLake (2005-01-11) | The rectangular building aligned to match the angle of the Laughter Tor's rows is in the distance, behind Laughter Man in this picture. Its pic has been posted separately, also showing Yar Tor and Corndon Down. Thanks for kind comments Nicola; sunlight and blue sky always help! It was taken on my old camera. |
