These stones can be seen here, along with the large stones at the end of the rows extending away from the circle in this view looking west. |
| Posted Comments: AstroKat (2009-12-31) | At midwinter solstice the sun rises at the site at approx 8.30 am; the shadow of the blockingstone of the eastern end of the southerly row falls in this circle at this time.
I propose that the cairn may have been to mark this alignment. AstroKat. |
