Description The owner of Penbryn Mawr house could not/would not speak English to me. I tried to ask for permission to see the standing stone that was on the other side of his house, but he bid me to wait a minute (in Welsh, which I don't speak) he came back out with this stone, and showed me a letter of authenticity/ownership, I scanned through it quickly, the gist was, it was found near here. But ! in all of his Welsh speaking the only word I understood was Stonehenge. I was most surprised and perplexed, was this hammer stone taken from Stonehenge and then a cover note drafted to keep hold of it in case of being found out ?
I still don't know what actually occurred that morning over three years ago, perhaps one of Welsh speaking comrades could go take a look.

A great stone and it really does look like a Stonehenge hammerstone [it looks like sarsen as well] used for dressing the monument [as you know], i can't think of anything they'd need a massive hammerstone like that in that part of wales at the time [it's a bit big for breaking up ore], it definitely comes from a site of workmen where they're getting all macho [i can use a bigger one than you!!! type of thing].

I never did get to see the standing stone in the field near this house, I might go back next time i'm over there, if he shows me it again I'll beg him to speak English or I could run for it. Ha !
So its definitely what it looks like then? It should be in a museum surley.

It looks like it's right next to a minor road as well, and because he was so friendly if you see him again it'll be like he's seen an old friend this time, do you know the two os numbers are different on here and tma, the one on here matches the description of where it is the best [you can see it from the road!!].

They differ on a lot of sites, it can get a bit confusing
