Description
Postgate Cross at NZ 91825 04342 – Image taken in July 2018 looking in a mainly westerly
direction. Circled on the skyline can be seen lots of cranes and machinery. This is a 3.2 billion
pound project known as the Woodsmith Polyhalite Mine. They are in the process of sinking 2 x 4,900 feet shafts. First production is expected in 2021, whereupon the raw material will be transported on a 23 mile conveyor system under the North Yorkshire Moors to Teesside where it will be processed
