Hi, could anyone help me? I'm doing an archaeology homework on what seems to be a banjo enclosure, but I can't find any aerial photographs to compare with what I've been given. Would anyone know of any links?
Thank you!

Hi WS, not really a photo but this might help http://www.magic.gov.uk/website/magic/viewer.htm?startTopic=magicall&sqgridref=SU530365&chosenLayers=moncIndex Micheldever Woods are near me in Winchester and I've tried to photograph the banjo enclosure but it's almost impossible from the ground.

I've just downloaded some pics to the Micheldever Wood site. You can see the difficulty in photographing this sort of place. The notice boards give some information and an artists impression of what it could have looked like.
Hope this is of some help

Thanks for those photos, Jimit. We've had this enquiry before and were unable to find any pictures. Great to have some now.

No problem I too Googled everywhere to find some pics with no luck. I had taken these photos a couple of years ago but was reluctant to post them as they hardly show anything of signifigance, however, the notice boards are informative.

Thanks Jim, that's somewhere I'm meaning to visit. 'Nothing much to see' is no excuse not to post a photo, every landscape tells a story. There is an interesting leaflet available from Winchester Museum.

There is a good geophys illustration of a banjo enclosure in Time Team's Timechester book. Also a fine drawing by the excellent Victor Ambrus.
